About Agriculture in Haryana

The saga of Haryana from being a food deficit State on 1st November, 1966 to being the second largest contributor to the Central Pool of food grains is truly amazing. Our hard working farmers enabled us to make the incredible contribution of 14 per cent to the Central Pool despite having only 1.4 per cent of the country’s total area. It is laudable that during 2016-17, food grain production of 180 lacs MTs was achieved.
